February Update – Irrigation

Clear visual differences were starting to show in December when the crop reached canopy closure and started flowering.

This work is only being done in Canterbury as the dry weather in Canterbury means that the treatments with no or low irrigation inputs are under significant water stress. Thus the results at harvest should be very interesting.

In Late January the trial was assessed to determine if the irrigation treatments were influencing the incidence of soil borne disease.  Early indications are there is no difference between treatments.
