SUMMARY:Canterbury Young Grower of the Year
DESCRIPTION:The competition is open to both commercial fruit and vegetable growers. Contestants will be tested on a range of theoretical and practical modules designed to test their horticultural skills and knowledge. A dinner will round off the day’s activities with speeches and the announcement of the 2026 Canterbury Young Grower of the Year winner. \n\n\n\nCompetition Day – Lincoln University\, Sunken Lawn \n\n\n\n\n9am – Briefing\n\n\n\n9.30am  – Modules kick off\n\n\n\n12.25 – 1.25pm – Lunch\n\n\n\n2.25pm – Modules finish\n\n\n\n\nAwards Evening – Lincoln University\, Mrs O’s Cafe \n\n\n\n\n5.30pm – Arrival Drinks\n\n\n\n6pm  – Seated for welcome\n\n\n\n6.15pm – Speech competition \n\n\n\n7pm- Dinner\n\n\n\n8pm – Awards Presentation\n\n\n\n9pm – Dessert
