The Potato Industry Awards are held biannually to coincide with the Potatoes Conference. The awards are the highlight of the potato industry and acknowledge the exceptional achievements by individuals and potato centric businesses in New Zealand.
Purpose
The purpose of the awards is to:
- Promote excellence in the potato industry in New Zealand
- Raise public awareness of the value, versatility, benefits of potatoes and the potato industry to New Zealand
- Recognise growers and industry stakeholders doing exceptional work.

Nominations Close: Friday 4 July
Judging: Monday 7 July to Friday 18 July
Awards finalised: Friday 25 July
Award presentation: Wednesday 13 August 2025
Categories
There are five categories for the Potato Industry Awards 2025:
- Shining Star Award
A rising star in the industry under the age of 35, who shows leadership potential and commitment to advancing potato farming. - Sustainability Award
A grower, supplier or researcher who has made significant strides in sustainable practices, from soil health to water conservation. - Innovation Award
A person or company that has introduced innovative technology and/or farming methods in their operation. - Community Award
An individual or company who has made a positive impact on the community or has supported their local community. - Life Member Award
An individual who has provided distinguished service to the industry.

Potatoes New Zealand reserves the right to only present Awards where there is an outstanding recipient nominated.
