The best homemade wedges and chips are made from floury textured potatoes, which are labelled as baking or roasting potatoes.

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Scrub the potatoes, do not peel.
  • Cut each potato into about 8 wedges or chips.
  • Spray with oil or sprinkle with a little oil and so the potatoes are well coated.
  • Bake, uncovered, at 200°C for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown and crunchy.
  • Turn once during cooking.

Healthy tips…

  • The chunkier the chip or wedge the healthier because less oil will be absorbed through the surface area.
  • Leaving the skin on gives you more nutrients, especially fibre.
