Meet Our Summer Intern: Stephanie Butler

Potatoes New Zealand is delighted to welcome Stephanie Butler as our Summer Intern.

Originally from Te Kauwhata, a rural community south of Pukekohe, Stephanie has developed a strong passion for the primary industries and enjoys spending time outdoors.

She is currently studying towards a Bachelor of Science at the University of Waikato, majoring in Environmental Science with minors in Soil Science and Data Analytics.

Alongside her studies, Stephanie is actively involved in university life as a Student Ambassador and a first year Statistics Tutor.

Through these roles, she enjoys helping students navigate university life and supporting their academic success.

Outside of study and work, Stephanie has a long standing involvement in dog agility and scent work. Having competed in dog agility for 12 years, she is passionate about developing the sport in New Zealand through instructing, judging, and serving on committees. At home, she stays busy with her four dogs, including three Border Collies and a Beardie cross.

Over the summer, Stephanie is looking forward to learning more about New Zealand’s horticultural and vegetable industries, gaining practical industry experience, and connecting with growers and industry stakeholders across the sector.

Potatoes New Zealand looks forward to working with her and supporting her professional development over the coming months.
