There has been a lot happening in the export space, so we thought it was time for an update.

Taiwan Market
The Potatoes New Zealand board have supported opening of the Taiwan market for export.
There are additional requirements for this market, please ensure you follow these if you want to export to Taiwan.

It is advisable for exporters (especially exporters with MAOs) to ensure they have oversight of the stringent packhouse / storage and packing requirements for Taiwan.

IVA’s will manage pre-plant and harvest processes for Taiwan.

We also require a $2K export fee to contribute to the Taiwan APHIA audit to open this market.

Export Management System
Potatoes New Zealand will also proceed with a project to develop an export management system to support export of potatoes and give exporters and growers guidance on export requirements. This also additionally gives the importing countries assurance that we have robust systems in place to meet their quarantine requirements.

BAF (Fiji) visit
Latest update from the Ministry for Primary Industries is this visit will take place early December; they are finalising details and hope to give these to us next week.
