Youth Council Update: Potato Industry Talent Recognised at Young Grower of the Year

The 2026 Young Grower of the Year competition was a proud moment for the potato industry, with potato professionals taking both first and second place. James Blair, an Agronomist with AS Wilcox, was crowned Young Grower of the Year, while Amber Davy, Quality and Field Manager with seed potato supplier Eurogrow, finished runner-up and also took home the Innovation Award.

Their success highlights just how diverse and exciting a career in horticulture can be. Modern potato production is about far more than growing crops. It involves agronomy, technology, research, data analysis, quality assurance, sustainability, business management, and leadership.
