International Potato Industry Representatives Tour New Zealand

A group of ten international representatives in the potato industry have arrived in New Zealand for a week-long tour hosted by Potatoes New Zealand. This visit provides a valuable opportunity for engagement with local growers, researchers, and businesses, fostering international collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The delegation, comprising of delegates from the United States, Canada and Australia, will explore different aspects of New Zealand’s thriving potato sector. The itinerary includes visits to key growing regions, research facilities, and processing plants, offering insights into the latest advancements in horticulture, biosecurity measures, and innovative production techniques.

The tour commenced at the Vegetables Big Day Out, where the representatives participated in two insightful indoor sessions. The first was a presentation by Associate Professor Andy Robinson, offering expert insights into Herbicide Resistance. This was followed by a dynamic panel discussion, providing an interactive platform to exchange perspectives on global challenges and opportunities within the potato sector.

The visitors will have the chance to witness firsthand the country’s world-class initiatives and cutting-edge technologies that contribute to a more resilient and efficient industry.
