Potato Waffle

Potato Waffles

Ingredients

1 kg potatoes (about 6 medium potatoes)
1 small onion
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 egg
2 Tablespoons flour
Oil to prevent sticking to waffle iron.

Instructions

  • Preheat and oil the waffle iron.
  • Grate the potatoes and onion.
  • Combine the potatoes, onion, salt, ground black pepper, egg, and flour. Remove any excess liquid.
  • Spoon mixture into the preheated waffle iron and close.
  • ook until golden and crisp on the outside, about 5-8 minutes.
  • Serve the potato waffles hot, with butter, sour cream and green onions.

Notes

You can add grated cheese, cubed ham, sausage, cooked bacon, green onions and other herbs to the mixture for added flavour.
