News

PNZ continue to work alongside Biosecurity NZ on the PMTV response. All updates are posted on our website. The last update was collated by Biosecurity NZ on the 2nd November 2018.

Stephen Ogden has revised several PNZ publications and they’re on our website and ready for dispatch via our resources portal.

Our NMNP November Means New Potatoes 2018 event was a sassy success. Photos are up on our website now and downloadable.

Events

PNZ held a Biosecurity Readiness Training Workshop at Plant and Food, Lincoln on the 27th November and covered all the usual Potato Pests and Diseases, including PMTV, as outlined in our revised 2018 Handbook.

As the year draws to an end, make your plans to attend 2019 conferences and forums. The Horticulture NZ conference and Potatoes NZ Conference, are definitely two to put in your calendars now.
PNZ Conference dates are 13th, 14th & 15th August 2019 in Christchurch.  For further details, keep an eye on our events listing page.

The World Health Promotion Conference is being held in Rotorua next year, with an interesting speaker, Dr Sima Barmania of Malaysia, hoping to pilot a schools programme called Potatoes for Peace.
Contact Gemma using our contact form if you are interested in contributing directly to this programme in the future.

Research and Development

PNZ Research and Development can be found on our website.
The most recent work is being done by Plant and Food, into psyllid monitoring and tamarixia release.
