The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) would like to remind industry that fresh and frozen product of Solanaceae, including fruits, vines, stems, leaves, true potato seeds and tomato seeds, are prohibited entry to Korea with the exception of potato produced and registered under the MPI Phytosanitary Official Assurance Programme for Potato Cyst Nematode and Potato Wart.

However, MPI understands that product which has been subject to a process or treatment prior to freezing (such as blanching) may be considered by Korea to be processed food and would not be subject to the entry conditions for plant product. If you are unsure if the processing or blanching treatment used by your organisation meets Korean requirements for processed food, please contact your importer.

Kind regards,
The Plant Exports team – MPI
