PNZ NEWS
Summer is coming to an end and so too perhaps the Omicron peak. The government has announced revisions to the traffic light system and we can only hope this lifts some of the burden on our growers.
In a recent regional meeting PNZ heard of the pressures from rising production costs, the most recent impact being diesel prices. PNZ are working with VegesNZ and Onions NZ to feedback to HortNZ, with a plan to address the raft of issues which ultimately will affect NZ consumers’ access to nutritious local vegetables, if the government doesn’t step in to mitigate. Keep an eye out for upcoming hybrid (virtual or face-to-face) regional PNZ grower meetings to contribute to this process.
